Year 6:
Below is a selection of artwork from the books and albums released during the 6th year of A Year In The Country.

Artwork from The Corn Mother: Night Wraiths album and book by Stephen Prince
An album which explores the world, stories and dreamscapes of an imaginary near-mythical film, where fact, fiction, reality and dreams blur into one…

More details on the album and book here.

Artwork from The Layering album
An audio slicing through the layers of time and history that journeys amongst forgotten tunnels and caves that lie beneath cities, ancient settlements buried underneath modern developments…

The album features music and accompanying text on the tracks by: Circle/Temple, The Heartwood Institute, Sproatly Smith, A Year In The Country, Field Lines Cartographer, Howlround, Folclore Impressionista, Handspan, Widow’s Weeds, Listening Center, Vic Mars, Pulselovers and Grey Frequency.

More details on the album here.

Artwork from The Quietened Dream Palace album
The Quietened Dream Palace is an exploration of closed down cinemas, including those which have been abandoned, become derelict, reopened as something new or demolished and there is little or no trace of any more. It draws from and intertwines personal and wider cultural and historic memories as it wanders amongst “quietened dream palaces” and the times when they still cast their spell over audiences.

Features music and accompanying text on the tracks by: Grey Frequency, Field Lines Cartographer, Keith Seatman, Pulselovers, Sproatly Smith, The Howling (Robin The Fog of Howlround and Ken Hollings), Folclore Impressionista, Listening Center, The Séance, Widow’s Weeds, Handspan, The Heartwood Institute, A Year In The Country and Vic Mars.
